Sugery

Back in September Brandon had surgery on a lump on his belly that he's had since birth.  It had never really bothered him enough to really pursue what it was until recently when it hurt no matter what he did.  The doctors figured it was just a lymphoma (fatty blob basically) and it was just resting on the muscle and irritating him.  So we show up to the hospital figuring to be there maybe a couple hours.  WRONG.  We went in around 9 to get checked in and the whole business, (mind you Brandon had been fasting since 11 the night before). They were quick to get him in his cute hospital clothes complete with hat. Yes, i took pictures but i also promised to not share them, i deserve brownie points for being the awesome wife. Anyways, finally  around 1:30, yes 1:30 they finally took him back and thankfully my mom came to sit with me so i wouldn't' go crazy in the waiting room.  They had told me it would be about 45 minutes, easy peasy right, Wrong again.  They came in about 30 minutes later to tell me in fact he had a hernia so they would have to put him under anesthesia completely (they had only did a local sedation basically since they figured it would be a quickie thing), well finally about 1 hour later they tell me that everything was fine and was thoroughly amazed that it was a hernia and was never caught before now.  Well then they tell me that I can't go back there for another 30 minutes.  I hate the fact that he had to wake up with strange nurses buzzing around and all that jazz. { Side note: i remember when i had a surgery when i was like 15 and they didn't let either of my parents back there to be next to me when i woke up and i freaked out and i was scared, didn't know what was going on. I hated it} So i was upset they wouldn't let me back for a while.  Well Brandon was a trooper and took it in stride that first day, sucky deal though, they gave him loritabs (jealous right) and they made him sooo sick so he was only able to handle Ibuprofen they did the trick but i felt bad he didn't get to stay in the warm happy fuzzy of painkillers. He ended being on short term disability for nearly a month and then was on light duty for another 3 weeks.  That month of being home and not being able to lift anything about 20 lbs. which included Jayden, he did it anyways but shhh.  He was going nuts not being able to do much and I've never seen him so grateful to being able to go back to work, i try not to take it personally, but he's a guy that it kills him to sit still for 5 minutes let a lone a month!  Jayden loved him being home and adjusting back to having daddy gone all day was rough for a while. We made it through and Brandon feels better and has a cool scar to boot, and thankful he had the surgery before it became a full blown bad hernia and burst and all that junk.  So sept/oct was an interesting couple of months.
