What the New Year it has been.

Well, for an update, and ease of informing people what happened this year already. The middle of January, all 4 of the batty clan came down with something, which knocked us all out for a few days. while the 3 boys bounced back, and started feeling better, Meagan didnt. She was taken to the Clinic, where she was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. after 2 days of treatments, the 3rd day she made a serious turn for the worse. She was taken to the ER in Vernal, where in about 20 minutes, the ER doctor made the call to have her Life Flighted to University of Utah hospital. She left sometime around 6:30 PM on Friday the 17th, and was a very sick lady. The flight team that responded was a Medical/Ob team, one of 4 in the nation. They landed in Salt Lake around 7:30 that night, and she was admitted into ICU. She was kept stable, with little improvment until Saturday, about 5:30, when the resident OB doctor decided that the baby needed to come then. They brought Ivan Dade Batty into the world at 6:26 on 1-18-2014, weighing in at 4lb 1oz, and 16.5 inches long, at an age of 31 weeks. He was put on a ventilator until the sedatives he had recieved while being in mom had worn off, and then was taken off the ventilator not much more than 12 hrs later, and started to breathe on his own without the assistance of oxygen. Meagan immediately started to improve in the oxygen saturation levels in her blood. She was taken back into ICU and kept under sedation until Wednesday the week after, and for several days went back and forth from under sedation to awake. On friday, after getting her pain in check, they cut all sedation, and woke her up. she past a breathing test, which meant she could have the breathing tube and ventilator removed. They removed it, and she started the road to getting out of ICU, she took 2 days of improvments, and she was taken from ICU down to a normal Internal Medicine recovery room. Mind you, she hadnt been awake or able to see Ivan. It took almost another full day before she was given clearance to go and see her brand new baby. She was discharged from University Hospital on Wednesday, 29 of January. Since then, she has proven how driven, and strong she is by making a quick recovery. Her little one, continues to grow, and do all the things that doctors hope all early babies would do. he has grown awesome and started to show interest in a bottle.
I must take a moment, and thank the Batty Family, the Rushton Family, the friends and other relatives, as well as the ward family that we have enjoyed. We are especially thankful for the prayer and fasts that were done for Meagan and the Baby to make a quick and full recovery, and we assure you, that the power of those have been both seen and felt. for all those who have helped, and those who offered help, may I express our deepest graditude for that.

Ill get to it

I've come to the realization that I love the idea of blogging but following through is not one of my strong points, obviously.  So I guess its about time to get this updated. However, this is not the case tonight. Im hoping that by doing this I will be annoyed at the thought of a incomplete blog post and do an actual, worth while update. Until then, perhaps tomorrow, good night world.

Pictures...yep i got some...

Summer Fun
Jayden being awesome!

The Many Faces of Korwin

Oh Geez..

So here goes a basic run down in my attempt of catching up.  Information over load and picture overload in 3...2...1...

May ::  If i remember correctly i left off with Korwin just starting to walk, wow that seems like such a long time ago and so much has happened since then.  Korwin turned 1 on May 18 and sadly i don't have any pictures of his birthday since our cameras battery some how got lost. I did recently find it which is why i'm trying to update this.  Besides the point his birthday came and went and i still can't believe he's now 16 months old and almost ready to embark on his adventure in Nursery. We also were able to finally buy Hubby his jeep, we found a deal and we just couldn't let this jeep go needless to say hubby is very very happy!

June ::  My birthday came and went and nothing too exciting happened expect hubby was awesome and let me buy lots and lots of yarn for my crochet blankets i truly intend to finish one day :). However, The second week in June we left the boys at gma and gpa batty's and me and hubby took a few day trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my whole family for a bowling trip (sans my older brother and his wife that were unable to come). they only bowled for a total of like 6 hours the whole time so we had lots of time to play as well.  It was hot and humid to say the least and rained like no bodies business but it was a fun.  We saw some cool tourist sights like a huge battle ship, an awesome Plantation and even went on a Alligator swamp tour.  Where we not only saw huge gators which we got to hold and then later that night we ate some gator as well.  Gotta tell ya gator is pretty tasty.

July ::  For once we got to stay and watch the entire firework show! We made sure Jayden at Ear muffs on and Korwin slept through them!  Wahoo! Jayden has been deathly afraid of frireworks the previous 2 years so it was nice to see him enjoy them this year. We didn't do any of our own since there was a city wide firework restriction due to the fire danger and such.  But it was awesome to go and watch the big show!  Then of course July is Rodeo Month! We were able to go all three nights which was awesome and we took the boys one night with us.  Jayden seemed to enjoy it but Korwin was bored from the moment we sat down.  OH well, they sure looked cute in their cowboy gear! Then the last weekend of July we took a trip to Provo and we came home with our new (to us) Tahoe.  Our old blue was starting to run on its last dream and we needed bigger so we finally took the plunge and got us our new car.

August::  For my dads birthday we got him tickets to a bees game and so we left the boys again for a quick weekend get away and the whole family went to the game. (we missed two of our favorites who live in Virginia! We thought of ya!)   It was a pretty close game but the best part was the fireworks at the end.  Salt lake knows how to do fireworks, made ours look so puny!

And here we are in September.  First weekend my mom was brave and took me and the two boys out to the swiss days in midway this year.  Hubs had to work sadly but we are so going next year!  Swiss days was awesome.  Just the amount of talented people in crazy. Soo many booths, food and just crazy people.  The boys did pretty awesome given the fact they had to drive two hours and wander around a boring to them craft fair!  It was so worth going though! Then just last weekend we went out to the zoo and state fair and it was pretty good. The boys loved the zoo and the new exhibits are awesome.  but then again i just love zoos! at the state fair hubs took the boys down the huge yellow slide, needless to say they LOVED it. Its going to have to be our tradition of going down the slide every year!

Also my brother and wife finally had their baby boy last week!  He is such a doll and i'm so glad to be an aunt again.  Welcome to the family Gavin and hopefully one of the days we can make it to Virginia and visit and meet him properly!

Then on Saturday me and hubby get to head to vegas for nearly a week for  "work" deal for the Mine Expo and i'm so excited.!  We leave Saturday and we'll be back the following Thursday!  I'm not excited about leaving the boys again but excited to get away and be able to squeeze in a few shows while we are down there.  Blue man Group  and Penn & Teller here we come!

Walking all over

So Korwin  just decided a few days ago that he was done with just walking between mom and dad and is now a true walker. Granted he is still pretty wobbly but he walks everywhere. Im not ready for him to grow out of this baby phase. Then im relieved he's growing out of the baby phase it means he's getting funner and funnier.  He is living up to his red hair, he is fiesty, and stubborn and then he has his super cuddly moments which I love since jayden never was and still isn't. But jayden loves playing with his little brother even if Korwin has already figured out how to get him in trouble.  Im in for a wild ride that is for sure

Potty Training

So potty training had been a very steep uphill battle for the past year, I would get lucky sometimes and have him pee on the potty but that was very very far and in between.  It was frustrating when  people try to convince you that your child should be trained my 2!  You wouldn't believe the stares and comments i would get at the thought of a 3 year wearing diapers, and him not even interested in the potty.  I had one lady ask me if he was autistic or had some learning disability, this was at church even, can't some people just mind their own business.  Trust me we tried several times to get him to go on the potty but for the longest time he was Terrified! of the toilet, wanted absolutely nothing to do with it, very frustrating.  Then about a month ago we were getting the boys out of the bath and Jayden started to panic at the thought of almost peeing on the floor so we rushed him to the potty and he made it! Still really no luck on consistency, we told him they don't have diapers his size and bought the pull ups and said that you can't stinky in them and if you go on the potty you get a prize and  blah blah blah.  Still really no luck, until one day i caught him pulling the 'face' and was able to get him to the toilet and he finally pooped on the potty! So like we promised we loaded up and he went and chose his cool remote control toy.  It has been all downhill since then, he had one accident since then just because i wasn't quick enough but now i can proudly say my  3 1/2 year old is POTTY TRAINED and only needs to wear pull ups during nap and bed time for the just in case moments. We had a sticker chart that he filled up with all of his potty trips and when he filled one up he wanted to go bowling so we went and got our bowl on!  It really is amazing how just one day he woke and seem to decide that yup, i think i'll start using the big boy potty now!  It is soo nice only having to change one boys diaper a day now!
